About Dr. Shayla Waddell, ND
Dr. Waddell has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine since 2006. As a Naturopathic Medical Doctor, she is trained in conventional medicine as well as alternative modalities. She combines the best of Western and Eastern medicine with diet and lifestyle to help each patient feel younger and achieve their health and wellness goals. Her approach is to thoroughly understand each client before developing a treatment plan. Dr. Waddell is friendly, approachable, caring and professional.
Shayla Waddell was born and raised in Laurel, Montana. She graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with a BS in Psychology in 2001. In 2005 Shayla received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR.
After graduating, Dr. Waddell worked in Portland, OR for a year focusing on I.V. therapy, acute care, family practice, and biotherapeutic drainage. She is trained to address acute and chronic health problems but has a special interest in neurological conditions, endocrine imbalances, allergies, and digestive complaints. She has been a member of the American Association of Naturopathic physicians since 2003 and is a member of the California Association of Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Waddell has had a successful practice for nearly 10 years with offices in San Francisco and Chico. Her practice focuses on endocrine disorders, digestive health, mental wellness, cardio-vascular health and preventative medicine. She values her relationship with patients and works closely with them incorporating diet, lifestyle, stress management, nutritional support, bio-identical hormones and conventional medicine to help each person achieve their health goals and optimal wellness.
In 2011, Dr. Waddell was in involved in launching the American Center for Biological Medicine in Scottsdale, AZ. This cutting edge facility is the first to bring a unique method of medicine called Biological Medicine to the United States. Biological Medicine is an approach that has been very successful in Europe and Asia. Dr. Waddell is now incorporating these approaches into her practice in Northern California.
Dr. Waddell enjoys traveling, running, yoga, photography, hiking, and cross-fit. Food is an important part of her life as it is a key factor in health and has helped her with her own health journey over the years. She is passionate about cooking and loves creating new things in the kitchen. Time with family and friends is a must, as is laughing and having fun. Health and happiness are her key values to a fulfilling life.
