Benefits of Our Unique Approach

At Acumen Health & Wellness Center, we treat the whole person – not just the symptoms or the disease process. With our holistic approach, a proper diagnosis and a thorough understanding of your health history we can uncover valuable information we need to get at the root cause of an illness. Often symptoms are so debilitating and the underlying imbalance is hiding so there is a need to palliate and support the body to minimized the disruptions the symptoms cause in daily life.

We believe health is a process and requires continual work — unfortunately no one has developed that magic pill. Therefore Dr. Waddell will ask for your top health priority when completing your treatment plan for each visit. This gives us a directed area of focus. When combined with Dr. Waddell’s years of experience, each person’s priority is addressed which has a cascading positive effect on the entire body.

  • Appointments can be scheduled by phone or online.
  • Established patients can have appointments with Dr. Waddell by phone when appropriate.

Appointments

To start off, we will set up your initial consultation. The appointment will last for at least one hour and you should arrive 15 minutes early.  Allow for a total of at least 90 minutes in the office. Expect a thorough discussion with Dr. Waddell about your health history as well as your lifestyle, diet, family life, work and home environment and anything else that may be impacting your overall wellness. Dr. Waddell will work with you to develop health and wellness goals and may initiate your treatment plan including recommended supplements and other items to support your goals. Expect to take home a lot of information.

After your initial consultation, you will return after about three to four weeks to review test results, discuss your progress, answer questions and refine your treatment plan. This appointment will last about an hour.

On an on-going basis, most patients have follow-up visits every four to six weeks. These appointments last from 20 to 30 minutes. As patients meet their health goals and symptoms begin to resolve, visits can be scheduled as infrequently as every eight weeks. But because our goal is to continue to address the underlying cause of illness, at least occasional consultations are recommended.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to make an appointment, we ask that you cancel with at least 48 hours notice. If you cancel with less 48 hours notice, you will be charged for half of the cost of the appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full cost of the appointment.
